Perhaps, we won’t need these robots to play drums any more as advanced music synthesizers and other machines can now easily morph sound of almost any musical instrument. Anyway, this ultimate robot, designed by Georgia Tech’s Gil Weinberg and Scott Driscoll, impeccably listens, plays and improvises new rhythms on drums.
With the creation of sensors that mimic human touch, should we envisage a whole band of Roborockers setting the stage on fire in the future? Probably, then the roar of the gig would be too wild to resist for us, but not for the robotic spectators.
