Ugobe has changed the way you interact with Robots and has unveiled Pleo. Pleo is a robotic dinosaur that will be available in the second quarter of 2007. The unique feature about Pleo is that it can emotionally react to its surroundings.

If you talk to it in a coo it starts wagging its tail and offers you to shake hands with it. If you are a curt and start scolding it then the robot will emit a mooing sound and show signs that it is depressed.

Other features are that the robot can yawn, sigh, sniff, sniffle, snore, cough, hiccup and sneeze.

The robot has a camera in its nostrils that lets it see and multiple sensors under its feet and skin can respond to touch. The robot does not respond to any spoken words but can recognize the tones in which the owner talks to it.

The Robotic toy will cost you somewhere around $250 and this makes it a perfect competitor for Sony’s Aibo, which is priced at $1,900.

Other than these common movements, the Robot has 400 discrete movements and more than 150 gears that help it move in natural fashion. It also contains six microprocessors and a flash memory card slot in its underbelly.
