Robots by no doubt are better watch dogs then humans, the reason being that they don’t want rest or some free time to sip a cup of coffee. Having Robotic security systems has always been a dream for many countries and the dream is more sensible if the country is Japan.

A Japanese company Sohgo Security Services has announced that it will be creating a semi-automatic security system based on the human-robot interaction.

The Robot to be used is an upgraded version of the Guardrobo D1, which also has been produced by the same company. The guard Robot weighs 200 pounds and stands fifty inches tall, and will bear a price tag of $3,000. Along with the complete security system the Robot will cost you between $10,000-$20,000.

The security robot, Reborg-Q can be programmed to patrol a specific area continuously or if you want it to patrol in a specific area then you can also control it with joysticks. Each Robot comes with four integrated cameras on the head and the shoulders so that it can recognize humans, water leaks or fire. On finding any danger these robots report back to a control room where human security officers can then take some adequate action.

Reborg-Q can also be used for other purposes along with the main job of security. You can use it to interact with people or advertise some special product if you want to install the robot outside a shopping mall. The Robot has a touch screen monitor, a RFID reader and a voice synthesizer which allows it to make some promotional announcements and tell the people interacting with it about the weather in the city.
