While the risk of the suicide bombers has increased too much, the droids have come forward to deal with the menace. The RedOwl is such an effort to procure early information related to gunshot detection, surveillance, intelligence, and increasing potential of army and government bureaus.
The RedOwl equipped PackBot has been field-tested for the Army at a rifle and trapshooting range.
Designed by Boston University this sniper detection and surveillance droid is equipped with deployable sensor suite, infrared laser illuminators, a rangefinder, advanced optics including a thermal camera, 300X zoom daylight/infrared camera, voice communication microphones and speakers, and high intensity white driving light.
