Panasonic and Kobe Gakuin University have teamed up to develop a robotic exoskeleton that can help patients suffering from partial paralysis, by moving their arms.

The suit has a set of virtual muscles that can help the patients relearn their intended motions. This will make the patients remember the feeling of moving their arms.

The skeleton weighs about 4 pounds and will be in the market by 2009. Currently the skeleton costs somewhere around $17,000 but the company claims that they will be able to lower the cost once they start mass production of the skeleton.
