It would be the highest number of droids deployment by any government, as the South Korean Govt has decided to support its army unit with 1,000 of these robots ($200,000 apiece). These gun-toting sentries can detect, raise the alarm, and provide suppressive fire as their surveillance, tracking, firing, and voice recognition systems have been built into a single unit.
The Work from four institutions and Korea University has potential to spot moving objects up to four kilometers during the day and half that distance at night, it performs this feat with its visual and infra-red detection capabilities.
What more, it can distinguish between cars, humans, or trees at two kilometers in daytime and one kilometer at night. With a bit alteration, they are planed to be used as security guard in areas such as power stations, airports, metro area and oil pipelines.
